Call of Duty Ghosts Officially Announced for Nintendo’s Wii U
Activision have finally confirmed that Call of Duty Ghosts will release on the Nintendo Wii U on November 5th 2013. It will release alongside Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and PC.
“As we have said before, we’re committed to doing everything we can to support the Wii U, which is why we’re excited to be bringing some of the most popular entertainment franchises in the world to the platform this year,” -Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing CEO.
“The Call of Duty franchise continues to be one of the most powerful forces in gaming and Skylanders continues to enchant new fans around the world. Our studios have been hard at work creating brand new immersive experiences perfectly suited to the Wii U platform and our fall lineup has something for everyone.”
CoD Ghosts will be released on the Nintendo Wii U with support for the Wii Remote and the second-screen Wii UGamePad. How that will work exactly, we are yet to know.
Is it a good idea, Call of Duty Ghosts isn’t exactly one of the most popular of games on Nintendo as we analysed over at Will CoD Ghosts Bother With Nintendo. We’re not convinced but Activision obviously feel differently.
We will keep watching this to see how Infinity Ward port it to Nintendo, whether it is a slightly ‘dumbed-down’ version of the game or maybe it is the same as we’ll see on other consoles. Only time will tell here.
