Ghosts Campaign To Be More Spectacular Than Ever Before
Perhaps one of Call of Duty’s trademark elements is the ever present blockbuster story line.
People have often complained of the length of the Single Player Campaign mode but I’ve never come across anyone saying it simply wasn’t spectacular enough.
Call of Duty Ghosts is shaping up to follow in its predecessor’s footsteps but what’s actually going on in CoD Ghosts?
We don’t have all the information yet, but we have compiled all the information we do know here.
..”The Event”, the remnants of which can be seen in the form of a giant crater in San Diego.
We know for example that the game is set in the year 2023 and, in a great upset to the usual status quo, America has lost its superpower status. This political downgrade comes as the result of some form of catastrophe occurring a decade previously which is known only as “The Event”, the remnants of which can be seen in the form of a giant crater in San Diego.
The “Ghosts” refer to the last of the US Special forces which are still engaged with the South American Federation of Countries, whose access to resources has allowed them to take America’s position as the Western superpower.
As regards to individual character involvement, we have little to work with so far. We know that a character by the name of ‘Hesh’ is connected with the Ghosts unit, along with his older brother (who at this stage we do not have a name for).
Arguably the most exciting aspect of Ghosts is the idea of a non-human playable character which in this game comes in the form of Riley, a German Shepherd K9 unit accompanying the brothers on their exploration of the ruins of San Diego.
Ghosts Campaign Missions
We don’t have much more information in terms of plot development but we have seen levels which may give us more information about the direction of the game.
The first was the now desolate landscape of San Diego where we encountered Hesh and appears to have become overgrown and almost jungle like.
The second was far more high tech, and involved high flying aerial travel across an urban skyline, Zip-lining from one building to another, abseiling down the last and eventually getting inside the building for some covert espionage with prime examples of stealth and electronics hacking.
This ended with the mission being compromised and a fire fight that eventually caused the building to collapse. The final level we have been exposed to is an underwater level where an enemy sub is the target.
We still don’t know what order these will occur in and how they will impact on one another but once we know more, we can update this further!
