The Elder Scrolls Online Disagrees with Mature ESRB Rating
The results are in for the creators of The Elder Scrolls Online and they are quite disappointing. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has assigned a mature rating to upcoming release of the latest installment of the series which takes fans into the world of multiplayer gaming.
This came as quite an unexpected surprise, as voiced in their latest Facebook status update. They explained that they disagree with the verdict, but will not challenge the rating and instead will put in the necessary time required to update everything with the required ratings and age gates (things like advertisements, trailers and websites).
The reason that they will not fight the determination by ESRB is because they are happy with the turnout of the game and will not alter it or remove certain aspects to satisfy other parties.
“We are unwilling to change the game’s content to achieve a different rating. The game we have created is the one we want our fans to be able to play.”
